Marine Freibrun is an instructional consultant, author, and former Idaho ELA and Literacy Assessment Coordinator who partners with schools and districts to strengthen instructional clarity and systems alignment. With experience supporting district leaders across the state, she understands the complexity of translating standards, assessment, and data into meaningful daily instruction.

Marine’s work focuses on strengthening Tier 1 systems, aligning formative assessment practices, and designing intervention structures that connect directly to core instruction. Rather than adding new initiatives, she helps leadership teams identify high-leverage instructional shifts that create measurable growth and sustainable impact.

She is the co-author of The Formative Assessment Handbook and the author of Getting Started with Teacher Clarity, where she explores the power of clear learning goals, success criteria, and intentional instructional design. Her work bridges research and practice, helping educators move from theory to actionable implementation.

Based in Idaho and a mom of two, Marine remains closely connected to the everyday realities of classrooms and families. She believes that when instruction is clear and systems are aligned, both educators and students thrive.
